Chris Hume hits the truth hard in this convicting work. He identifies the ease in which we cave to external pressures, point to God as the Ultimate reason, and then while justifying past actions rewrite history to massage our own consciences. He calls to account some big names in his polemic argument, but in so doing shows that we all are accountable for our actions; and, when those actions require repentance we ought to do so immediately in the measure that our sin requires (meaning…if we are leaders speaking in a public setting, our repentance needs to be of an equal measure—ie, on the stage or limelight from which we spoke or acted). Well worth the read!!
